I just wanted to share a piece I knocked off recently as sort of a self-promotional work. It started as a passing thought some years back, pondering "what if there was a second-generation Monte Carlo funny car?" Granted, the great Mickey Thompson had a Grand Am back in the early '70's, and it was a mean piece... with a VERY warped and contorted body. My idea was to keep the general shape intact, aside from the requisite narrowing, and stretching (OK, and a raise on the decklid, etc etc...).
It's pure '70's, but a "refined" take on the look... almost "show-car-ish". The body lends itself naturally to the treatment, and was just one of those fun "warm-up" exercises when switching gears from writing code for a website to hammering out a rendering. Would I expect anyone to build it? Not especially... but with an interior, some doors, functional lights... ahh, screw doors.
Keep a flopper body on it, and impresss the soccer moms at the grocery store as you suavely slide your polyester-panted posterior into the cockpit while Supertramp cranks through the Sparkomatics. Thus ends our alliteration lesson for today...
Yeah, it's ANOTHER green car... must be in my green period. ("green period".... sounds like something that might happen to Frankenstein's wife... hmm.)
I know it's none of my business and please don't get me wrong but why don't you communicate with the people who appreciate your art? I mean, your vectors are amazing and you get lots and lots of comments but you never reply to them.
I really hate to sound judgmental but I'm curious to know why you never reply that's all.
I reply as often as possible... and I apologize if I seem distant at times. I sincerely appreciate each and every comment I receive... Lately, between working, travelling for work, and health issues, it's been harder and harder.
I receive a number of notes and emails, to which I try to stay current on (and I've been better lately -- note my replies are well up!), but sometimes, there just aren't enough hours in a day.
I create this art to place food on the table, and a roof over my family's head, and, unfortunately, that demands the bulk of my time.
Thanks for your time, and I hope that all came across right. By all means, please keep in touch! Thanks so much for looking at and enjoying my work... and especially your kind words on it.
I like it
