Client's 1972 Monte Carlo project... The idea was to keep a very subtle look with the car, and add some touches that would almost look "factory", as well.
We opted to use as many off-the shelf parts as possible (trim, handles, etc), and then do some very subtle custom modifications as well, to tie in the classic personal luxury theme of the car.
As usual, Illustrator CS2, starting with pencil drafts. Hope you like it!

Oh, if one only could have one of the cars from your drawings... A man can dream, can't he?

This is great. Black, clean, mean.

I like this car heaps, especially the rendering on the bumpers. I can't seem to get my renderings to have realistic looking chrome bumpers. This car is really nice!!! great work

Thanks so much! I've been working at and reefining methods for creating chrome for years.... maybe I'll do a nifty little how-to?

Maybe you should, It'd be very good. Your chrome work is actually perfect, I use photoshop for my work though, but I can't get good chrome effects, my chrome tends to look very basic.

Yours looks good! I have fought for years to think of it not so much as chrome, but as a reflection of the environment around it... start with a lot of white, then add whatever logically would reflect... but slightly muted in color.... hope that helps?
