Surfite Cube

Description

I've been working on a great project lately, having been given access to the new Nissan Cube on a great, intimate level, and the project has spawned a number of concept renderings... While I can't show many of these publicly, I can, however, share these two versions, a surf-going custom with serious inspiration from Roth's Surfite... A full-custom, surf lifestyle-oriented concept for the 2010 Nissan Cube.

I was heavily influenced by the car's asymmetrical design, and applied key elements inspired by Ed Roth's "Surfite" show car from the '60's to further play-up the theme.

The swing-out glass, shortened rear 'gate, and built-in step on the rear fascia all serve functional purposes, and the one-off, asymmetrical tail lamps, molded bumper covers and wild stance are just like icing on the pearl yellow cake.

Hope ya dig it.

I love this. I'm not a huge fan of the asymmetrical showcars of the 60s, but this is one heck of a successful resurrection! Takes the theme of the Cube and just pushes farther in the same direction, with a lemony-fresh 60's flair. Wicked. Love the thin whitewalls and the rear step. Also, way cooler than the Surfite. Sorry Big Daddy!
